Honouring Trevor Garrett

Today we honoured the life of Trevor Garrett, an early member and competitor of the Motorsports Club of Tasmania. The funeral service in Hobart brought together many who shared Trevor’s passion for rallying, including Club life members Terry Bracken (Trevor’s navigator) and John Brock, along with early fellow members Kevin Styles, Tony Westbrook, Geoff Rainbow, and Bruce Peck. Current committee members Stuart Styles and Belinda Brock also represented the Club at the celebration of Trevor’s life.

Trevor’s contribution to Tasmanian motorsport was significant. With navigator Terry Bracken, he claimed the Tasmanian Rally Championship in 1977 driving a Mitsubishi Lancer, and in 1976 they shared the win in a Mitsubishi Galant alongside John Brock and Bob Tyson. During the service, Terry shared heartfelt words reminiscing about their time together as a rally crew - a partnership built on trust, skill, and a love for the sport.

Trevor’s achievements and camaraderie will remain an enduring part of our Club’s history. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
